About the Artist

For Zach Nedwell, painting isn't about capturing famous landmarks, it's about preserving the quiet moments that so often go unnoticed.

Having spent much of his life along the New England coast, Zach has seen Maine from perspectives few people ever will. As a commercial fisherman, he watched the sun rise over the ocean before most of the world was awake. As a chef, he learned to appreciate patience, precision, and the beauty found in simple things. His years of military service taught resilience and perspective, while his work as an art educator has reinforced the importance of slowing down, observing, and helping others see the world with fresh eyes.

Those experiences shape every painting he creates.

Working with mixed mediums such as acrylic, pastels, watercolor, and even sculpture, Zach is drawn to the places people pass every day: a quiet shoreline, an aging lighthouse, a weathered building, a winding trail, or the way evening light settles across the coast. His paintings are an invitation to pause, take a deep breath, and truly look. To notice the beauty that has been there all along.

Today, Zach lives in Cape Elizabeth, Maine, with his wife and their three children. The landscapes surrounding his home continue to inspire his work, and each original painting is created with the hope that it will bring a sense of peace, nostalgia, and connection into someone else's home.
