The Coast
I've spent much of my life on the New England coast. Long before I painted it, I worked on it: watching the sun rise over the water as a commercial fisherman, learning its rhythms, its moods, and its quiet moments. The coast has always had a way of reminding me to slow down and pay attention.
These paintings aren't meant to be perfect portraits of Maine. They're moments that stayed with me like the glow of a lighthouse at sunset, boats returning to harbor, waves breaking against weathered granite, or the stillness that settles over the shoreline when everyone else has gone home.
When I paint the coast, I'm painting more than a place. I'm painting the feeling of being there.
I hope these pieces remind you of somewhere you've been, someone you've shared those places with, or a moment you thought you'd forgotten. Because home isn't always a place you live. Sometimes it's a place you remember.
